Hi
I am due to retire later this year from a public service body but intend continuing work as is my choice. However, I have been told that because I will no longer be paying into the pension at 5 per cent, my salary will be reduced by this amount. I never heard of this before. Has anyone else? I am a post 2004 employee and apparently this only affects staff who joined before this date.
It was also suggested to me that I could not claim the state contributory pension until I stop working. I have challenged this as my understanding is that I am entitled to this once I reach 66 yrs no matter what other earnings I have. Am I right.

Thanks in advance.
