Returning to Ireland, outrageous car insurance quotes

Hi,
I have returned home after 3.5 years living in UAE. I am finding it awful to even get quoted for car insurance on even a modest car.
I have over 15 years claims free driving but because the last three were in UAE all 15 count for nothing. I even have proof of no claims from AXA and RSA from Dubai.
One insurer quoted me €2500!

Has anybody got experience of this? The whole thing is extremely stressful.

Were you a named driver on any vehicle in Ireland while you were away? This counts towards discounts.

If not, you'll just have to bite the bullet and go for the cheapest you can find and build up your Irish insurance history again.
 
Our motor dept. have an insurer that will allow a no claim bonus up to 4 years on a cases by case basis. If you make contact with us they might be able to help you.
