I'm thinking of retrofitting Double Glazing into existing wooden window frames instead of installing new windows. Anyone ever looked into this?

Yes we did this quite a few yrs ago. I like that the old mahogony windows were not dumped and there was minimal damage to the rooms. Work was completed in a day. I think the price was reasonable as well.

Do you mean adding a pane to the existing window or actually adding internal secondary windows ? What result are you looking to get - noise reduction or heat insulation or both ?

Taking out the existing single glaze and fitting double glaze in place. Heat insulation is the reason.

Hi Prosper, just wondering if you went ahead with this and if so, how do you find them? I'm interesting in both noise reduction and heat insulation results
