Just sorting out our tax credits at the minute,and i have put down for the Home carers credit & just seen this Retirement annuitey relief on our cert for €1207,is this a standard creidit to have?
 
It's not a standard credit in the same way as the home carer credit or employee credit- it most likely means that you or your spouse is paying into a retirement fund but not getting the tax relief at source through your payroll. The relief is granted using this credit.

You should check if the amount correctly reflects the amount of the AVC being paid for the year.

its on my husbands tax cert & he hasnt paid into any pension fund since he left the construction federation one back in 2005...looks like we owe the tax man a huge bill so :(..i never even realised it was on it,must have been done by his employer in o5
dont know what to do about this now,nightmare :(
