It seems to have died a death. It was going through the Dail when the previous government was in power, but the current government seem to have dropped it.
That said, it is always possible it will be resurrected in its current form or in a different form at some point - just the way things are going; if you can sell at all, it must be to your tenant.
All Bills currently before the Oireachtas lapse when the Oireachtas is dissolved. They may be reintroduced after the election but, if they are, they start the parliamentary process from step 1 again. Or, they may not be reintroduced after the election.
Thanks for info. Yeah selling next year don’t mind if tenant buys and certainly would offer to them first to save red tape but just wanted see if was going to be forced to offer.
