Residence for tax purposes

I'm an Irish citizen, but have not lived or worked in Ireland for 20 years. Any idea what my Irish tax liability would be in the following situation?:

1) I work in the middle-east
2) Wife, also Irish citizen, and childers move back to Ireland and become resident
3) I would not spend more than a few days/year in Ireland and would be well under the requirement for Irish residence.

Would I also be automatically liable for income tax due to the wife being resident in Ireland?

The residence of you and your wife are totally separate. So you wife's residence would not have any bearing on your residence
