Hi all,
going to view an old 2 storey farnhouse later today, with a possibility to purchasing. Would you know of any websites that may have farmhouses renovations / conversions? I'm looking for a bit of inspiration, thanks!
 
I am currently renovating an old farmhouse, you need patience, imagination and very very deep pockets!!! Best of luck though, its well worth the pain, sweat, tears and long long wait - i hope.

Hi mom04, could you give us a quick breakdown on what you're doing, costs etc. I have to strip our farmhouse completely, needs new roof also, just a ballpark figure on what everything costs? Also your location would be helpful re: prices etc.
 
I'm in cork, we stripped the house down to bear four walls, replaced almost everything, added an extension of approx 1800 ft sq, redid the roof which gave us extra attic space of approx 1000ft sq, the roof alone cost 35k, insulation - spray on for old half of house and full roof was 5k, windows triple glazed great uvalue 18k handmade stairs and frame and stairs to attic 7K, Front door from uk 2K Plastering at the moment - this should take 6 weeks with hemp plaster,
all in all approx €40 sq ft direct labour, but house will have great heating, good uvalue, great finish, and will have house of 4000ft sq in the end. Alot of hassle but well worth it.

Just read that back, it seems a little confused, forgive the waffle im getting the flu and am a little drugged !!!!!
