Is this generally possible to DIY or does it require a mechanic to fit it? I don't want to go removing the rubber, only to find that I have no way of fitting the replacement. The car is a peugot 206 if that makes a difference, but would think not.

This is a DIY job, remove the rubber and bring it to a motor factors to get a replacement, should only cost a few euro.

u might need to go to a P dealership to get this part..motor factors might not do them, but try.Shuld only be a couple of euro. And I just replaced cluth cable and other parts for first time...doddle. And if u did get stuck with any DIY then just ask any mechanic for advice! You won't be long learning if u do it yourself, so when u go into a rep dealer (if ever)for service u know exactly whats needs to be done and what doesn't and how much it should cost including labour.
