I have a touch of RSI in a couple of my mouse fingers. Could anybody please recommend a good physio or specialist in this area. Would one need a referral from one's GP?

Whatever you do, try and get an ergonomic assessment of your desk. No amount of treatment will help if you keep on doing the damage! I had the same problem and a few seemingly minor changes to the desk and chair sorted me out. Do you have occupational health at work? It's a good place to start.

I'm actually just starting a new job but I'm sure they have. The previous place paid lip service to such things.

I had an employee with carpal tunnel syndrome. Ergonomic assessment of the work station is a must as is adequate awareness / training on good practices. We provided an ergonomic mouse which helped as well as did regular rests from using the mouse. Person learned to use left hand to share the load so to speak but this had potential for CTS to develop in both hands/wrists.

Feed back we got from Doctors / physios is that all of these measures were to minimuise the strain and not as a cure.
