Healthcare costs - not insurance Renting CPAP machine

Possibly, if it has been prescribed/recommended by a medical practitioner. Although it's not clear if rental as opposed to purchase costs are covered so you may need to check with Revenue to be sure.
You can also claim relief on the following if you are prescribed, referred or advised to, by a practitioner:
  • ...
  • cost of purchasing, maintaining and repairing medical, surgical, dental or nursing appliances.

This suggests that tax relief and the Drugs Payment Scheme may apply in this scenario.

You can claim the cost of rental each month from the drugs payment scheme.
It requires completing a drugs payment scheme refund form each month with copy of your CPAP monthly rental invoice/receipt

We claimed up to around 3/4 years ago. We had to fill in a refund form for each month claiming, but often sent a number of months refund forms together and there was never a problem with getting the repayments.

Just to add you only get refunded any payments made over the €80 cap on prescribed medication.
In our case our monthly meds were always over the €80 so we always got a full refund of the cap machine which was around €100 per month
