hello,

I'm renting a car space for €1,200 per annum, and paying my apartment management charge of €1,000 pa for a 2 bed room flat which I'm living in.

what portion of the management charge could be offset against parking, acceptable as reasonable by Revenue Commissioners?

thanks

John

Sorry, I don’t understand the question here.

Is the OP letting a parking space i.e. obtaining a rental income of 1,200 for it?

Hi,

annual mgmt charge is €1k and question is how much of the annual management can i offset again the annual parking revenue, for tax purposes?

Do you use the parking space yourself as well (e.g is it only rented during office hours)?

You rent *out* the parking space rather than rent it, is it?

If anything, you could only discount the portion of the management fee that specifically relates to car park maintenance (but I am not even sure if this would be allowed by revenue). Check the accounts of the complex to work out what is spent on parking maintenance and divide by the number of apartments. That is essentially the best estimate imo.
