Rented dwelling should I register tenants with Irish water

Hi, I am a landlord and wondering what most people have done with their tenants in regard to Irish Water. Have you registered your tenants with Irish water if they haven't done so themselves. Have Irish Water contacted you to let you know if your tenants have registered .

Also when fixed term one year lease expires do you give a new fixed term lease. if you increase the rent do you notify PRTB.

Bit late to be trying to have your tenants sign up now, you should have conveyed the message to them last September for them to do so (as I did). If they did not register I presume that quango would have been in touch by now.
All you can do is ring that quango and ask if your property was registered as you are the landlord.
At the end of the lease you can give another fixed term lease, if you increase the rent you do not need to notify quango 2. Quango 2 is only looking for the 90€ registration fee with details of the rent for a new tenant not for an existing tenant registered in your property with the PRTB. You only need to contact the PRTB for first registration and any problem tenant issues thereafter.

I have a piece in my lease that indicates the tenants are responsible for all utilities. I am not sure why you think it is too late to ask them now as they can register and avail of the 100 euro conservation grant once done before June.
What I am wondering is whether it was decided that it was illegal to register tenants if they had not done so themselves. Have landlords registered their tenants and did the tenants give permission to do so or did you just register them or have Irish water contacted landlords to inform them that their tenants have not registered.

I contacted my tenants Sept 2014 and asked them to register by Oct 31st. Both indicated they had and it is already in their leases anyway. If a tenant is coy about signing up then pass their details (name, address) onto Irish water. I did that too for insurance and have not heard anything back from IW.
