I recently terminated a house rental, and had to compensate the renter and pay legal fees. i was selling the house and since sold it, the renter took a case and at mediation it was agreed i pay compensation. Can i claim the compensation and legal fees on my rental for year or possibly on my sale of house proceeds as i had to pay compensation to get her out so i could sell?
