H Howitzer Registered User Messages 1,458 14 Dec 2009 #2 You can only claim rent relief in Ireland against income. If you've no income you've nothing to claim against. Your girlfriend could only claim rent relief if she had an income in the UK and the UK had a similar tax allowance.
