Rent Relief for Self Employed

I am PAYE and hubby is self employed.

We have not been claiming rent relief since we began renting in 2004. Seeing as our landlord decided to increase the rent by Eur100 to Eur1300, we have decided to apply for it.

My question is what effect would it have on hubby as self employed and is he allowed to claim for rent relief as a self employed person?

Has he not been making such claims already in his annual form 11 returns?

No

Its one of those things he has been meaning to do as his accountant did not advise him over the years.

You should download the RENT1 forms so from www.revenue.ie

Being self employed is not relevant for this relief
