Rent allowance

Hello

I am just passed rent allowance but i have to move house because the people i shared with have moved and the landlord has put in strangers who i just dont feel easy with.

Do i have to reapply again? If so will i be cut off until they make a decision again(this took 5 weeks to get passed)

Must i inform community welfare officer?

Would they help with a deposit for the new house?

Any info would be great.

Hi,go to your welfare officer and tell him/her your moving..look for new accomodation and pick up your forms and get them signed and stamped.i did it without any problems.i dont think they help with a deposit.i had everything done and sorted in less than 2 weeks.

Yes, you have to make a new application for Rent Supplement when you find a new address. I presume you paid a deposit when renting your current place, so you should get that back when you leave, provided your rent is up to date.
