fiolor,
One Plan Starter is a basic plan which just covers upto a semi-private bed in a public hospital, all public hospitals are covered.
There is NO cover for private hospitals on this plan.
VHI Start Plan is also a basic plan which covers public hospitals only upto a semi-private bed. This plan only covers 21 public hospitals
around Ireland, 36 public hospitals are NOT covered.
Kick Off Plan is a basic plan covering upto a semi-private bed in all public hospitals. But Kick Off plan has an extra feature not available on
any other plan of its type. It is a unique plan, which covers public hospital cover as standard but it allows you to upgrade to Kick Off Upgrade plan
if you need surgery in a private hospital with no waiting time applied. So you just pay for a basic plan, price 568, and can upgrade to a private
plan only if and when you need it. The upgrade waiting time is normally 2 years. So for these reasons, Kick Off is a better option.
The children can be insured with VHI on their own if necessary.
