On the side of our chimney breast wall we have the pipe that is available if we wish to convert real fire to gas. However I was hoping to get a bookcase flush fitted into the alcove.
Is it advisable to remove this pipe (how easy would it be to convert to gas if we decided at a later date to change our minds)?
Also is it a relatively straightforward job for a gas engineer, and therefore how much would it cost?
