Regulator for Aldi BBQ

Hey!

My old BBQ died over the weekend so I bought one from Aldi today for €65. The regulator doesn't fit my gas bottle. What are my options? Can I buy a standard regulator? (the one that would fit a superser) How much are these, where do you get them, are they safe?
Also it's a gas BBQ so can I use lava rock with it? My old one had a plate you put the lava rock onto.

Hi Nicky, Oh no! I have an Aldi bbq sitting in a box in my shed unopened - so presumably I have the same problem as you. I'll be watching this thread with interest!

You have 2 options,
1. In woodies they have Gas reguators @ €20
2. sometimes you can get them on Adverts

why not take your old regulator off the bbq that died and use this on the new bbq. Strikes me as the best option.
 
I would guess that the reason the regulator won't fit is because it shouldn't fit!

If I was you I'd be looking for a gas bottle with the correct type of connection for the regulator as opposed to the other way round!

Are you trying to use the wrong type of gas by any chance?
 
Last year I has same issue and I changed the regulator.I used the one from the old BBQ and that sorted my problem
