Hi, My husband worked for the same company from 2016 under a certain name , company was run by same management until last yr Feb 21 when they amalgamated still under the same management but was issued with a new contract, his role has never changed, he is now more than likely been made redundant , wondering what redundancy will he get, is it possible he will only get 1 yr?

Where I worked it went through various owners, with new contracts and they always have included service from previous ownership. Redundancy was based on the full service. Not sure if that was required or at the discretion of management.

Maybe this would cover it?
"In deciding whether you have worked continuously for your employer for at least 104 weeks (2 years), the following situations will not break the continuity of your service:

Assuming he was a permanent employee, then his service would have transferred to the new company under the relavent Transfer of undertakings of a permanent employee legislation (TUPE). Hence in theory, he should be entitled to 6 years or so. Note there is no legal requirement for his employers to pay more then statutory.

Some temps/fixed term contracts also fall under TUPE if the staff member has been there for a number of years.
