Redundancy / Alternative role

I, along with 5 colleagues, am at risk of redundancy. From 5 (different)senior positions our department is being reorganised to 2 senior positions and the resulting organisation will also contain some less senior positions. The new positions will be slightly higher, or slightly lower grading than our current roles. As I understand it, I should be entitled to (compulsory) redundancy if I do nothing from this point on. Might I forfeit this right if I were to apply for and potentially reject one of these senior roles?
 
Sorry for bumping, suspect my initial post was a little over-complicated? Basic question is, if I apply for and finally reject an alternative position, do I effectively lose the right to redundancy in the process?
