Reducing the interest % on my credit card

Hello all,
Is it worth phoning my credit card company to ask them to reduce the interest on my credit card?

We have about 2k outstanding.

Would it work, if we threatened to switch cards?

Who would you switch to? Would any other provider take you on?

If you have a clean ICB record why not switch provider? Several card providers offer balance transfers at under 4% for 12 months. See [broken link removed].

I would be bluffing at this stage as I haven't applied to another company yet.

As far as I know, credit cards are not typically offered at differing rates for different customers. So your provider may suggest changing cards to another type with them, but they are unlikely to change the rate on your card.
