Red Oak floor is starting to lift

Have a red oak wooden floor down (semi-solid) and outside my bedroom it is starting to lift really bad, it looks like there was no room left for the floor to expand. Its down about two years.

I have a feeling that it can be fixed as I can get more of the same floor and where it is lifting right outside my bedroom, beside the saddleboard.

Any advice and help much appreciated.

sounds like the floor has taken in a lot of moisture which may be due to the fact that with this summer being milder than the last couple you haven't had your heating on and the floor is exposed to the full moisture content of the air. Sounds like the skirting will need to come off and more expansion room cut off the edge boards (min 12mm both sides). You can do some exploration prior to removing skirts. Get a bit of copper wire with a 90 deg bend on the end. Look for a gap between floor and skirt and try to use wire to establish where the expansion gap is/isn't.
