Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations for a fee-based, independent financial planner or advisory firm that provides holistic lifestyle financial planning.

Specifically, I need a firm that covers:

Full Life & Cashflow Modelling: Long-term projections to map out early retirement/financial independence targets.
Pension Optimization: Maximizing tax-efficient structures (e.g., PRSAs, executive setups, bridging strategies).
Tax Optimization: Navigating cross-tax efficiencies, investment tax treatments, and efficient structural transitions over the next 10 years.
Retirement planning: early retirement and gap year strategy.

Full Implementation Team: I am looking for a firm that doesn't just hand over a static PDF report, but has an implementation arm to set up the structures, execute the fund allocations, and handle the ongoing management.

Two specific criteria I am running into:

Fee Structure (Pension Deduction): Because upfront, out-of-pocket financial planning fees can be high, I prefer a firm that can structure their advisory and implementation fees to be deducted directly from the pension fund/product execution in a tax-efficient manner, rather than paying exclusively via a direct bank transfer.

Asset Minimums: I've approached a couple of firms, but they seem to strictly gatekeep their comprehensive planning for clients who already have €1m+ in liquid investment assets day one (excluding property/pension lock-ups). I am looking for an independent firm that looks at overall net worth, career trajectory, and total pension capacity rather than just immediate liquid cash to invest.

Any recommendations or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Seems like there are a very small number of truly independent advisors like that in Ireland. The few that there are all seem to pick the round number of 1 million as a minimum to make it worth your while using their service.

This is partially based on the assumption that people who want and will get the most value from the service are within 10-15 years of retirement, often much closer, pre that it’s not that complex to have a solid plan in place.
