Hi all

Any advice welcome now Ulster Bank gone for AIP. I have just contacted one broker so far and they mentioned KBC as an option - are they not pulling out the same as Ulster Bank?

Ulster bank had been offering us 4 times spouses salary. I think they also took account of child benefit. 2nd time buyers. 35% deposit.

The broker deals with BOI, KBC, Irish Permanent, Finance Ireland and one more that I can’t remember.

Should I be casting my net wider with a different broker? Are all brokers equal? We have a few other variables that add to our ability to repay. Is there anything to be said for going to lenders directly? For example I will have lump sum coming to me next year, but need to try and buy before then because we’ll be wasting money renting. Can a bank manager do anything when computer says no? I am also conscious of going to broker and being refused an AIP by bank. Are there pitfalls to look out for in using a broker? Thanks
