Recommend creeping plant/shrubs to cover large slopes pls?

Folks,

Have just completed new build and given site contours, we had to build into a fairly large sloping hill. Have built retaining wall approx 1.5M at bottom but the bank behind slopes away fairly steeply and stretches back approx 7M. It is also about 60M in length enveloping two side of the house. To plant it in mixed shrubs would I presume cost an absolute fortune (which we don't have) so I'd appreciate any suggestions for relatively inexpensive plants/shrubs that creep (alot) so as to cover the area. All suggestions welcome as no gardening experience whatsoever. Thanks in advance, fmmc

Very easy cover is Vinca - (periwinkle) and Alchemilla mollis - Ladies Mantle

One trick with gardening is to take cuttings from friends and pot them on. Mind you, you'd need a lot of cuttings for that big space! Both of the above plants will spread ( and in the case of the Ladies Mantle self seed wildly) so if you didn't mind a few bare patches for a year or so..........

SAP landscapers use a lot of ivy for ground cover which is cheap, and spreads like mad. I've seen them use some dwarf raspberry plants too and theres the added attraction of the fruit.
Alternatively have you thought about buying a meadow seed mix and scattering it for a wild meadow effect?
Or try grass seed and by a light flymo to keep it in check for now and as MF1 suggests start a cutting nursery and work on it slowly.
