Recognition of ACCA qualification in US

Has anybody got experience of how a US empolyer views ACCA membership in the context of a an Irish person looking for an accounting job. I understand that the US has its CPA qualification for accountants
The ACCA website USA careers section doesnt look too encouraging

Wouldn't you need to show a qualification in US GAAP to be accepted as an accountant in the US?

Well I work for a US company thats has operations in Ireland (don't they all)
Anyway the company does internal US GAAP courses, which I have done
I suppose the best thing to do is to speak to my US colleagues and see what they think of ACCA etc...
