Seriously though, was there no investment that you made (or were advised to do) in your life that wasn't a dud? If there was, what was it, what term was it for and what asset class/es was it invested in.?

One stands out: State Savings - National Solidarity 10 year Bond, First Issue. Paid me 50% tax free! Since then, I have always had a few bob invested with State Savings.

If you're interested, the next time that I'm passing through Cahir, I'll call in and tell you about the rest of them! But I'll need strong coffee, and a large box of tissues!
