Hi All. We're looking to buy a range cooker and have done a search of Rangemaster range cookers. Has anybody bought one of these recently and what do you think of them?
I'm looking at the Dual fuel type, Classic deluxe 90 model, Cranberry colour.
How do they compare to the Stanley type range cookers in terms of price and quality. The Stanley looks like a very good quality product but it's very pricy.

Stanley may be pricy ...........but what I hear from people in the business , is that AGA/Rayburn etc are fussy regarding fuel products to burn . This is especially true if you are burning anthracites / Ovoids / Phurnacites etc

Have a look at these websites for tips on burning fuel in ranges :
Whereas you can burn anything is a Stanley Multi-fuel cookers

My parents have a Stanley and my brother is installing one in their self build, I think it is worth the extra money.

I have a Rangemaster Classic 110, all-electric version (due to there being no natural gas available in my area) and I love it. Price played a major role in my decision to buy this, as other brands were almost twice the price. Possibly those more expensive brands are better cookers, but I can honestly say that I haven't had a single problem with my Rangemaster in the 2 years since it was installed.

Hi There,

We have the classic 110 installed for the last 4 years and no problem.I got the gas hobs and electric oven.Celtwytch when i got ours it came with spare jets to convert it from natural gas to bottled. We use ours almost every day and one of the large tall cylinders lasts us over 1 year!!!

Wow, I didn't realise those cylinders would last so long! Wish I'd known that at the time, because the gas hob does look so much more traditional than the ceramic one. I had visions of having to order those cylinders far more frequently.

I did'nt think they would last that long either but they do and at around €100 or less that's good value!!!!! We used to have electric and i have to say i would never go back to it.

Have the classic 90, gas and electric for about 2 years now. Bought it "almost new"
Really great. Reliable just two niggly issue.. below

- love the gas control for cooking
- love the big burner for big stew pots/ wok
- 4 burner sizes in all. that's just smart!
- love the griddle plate for searing steaks
- it also self-cleans or maybe that's my OH. Hmmm?

Grill power (electric) seems low therefore slow. It could just be an older element of course which is forgivable as these parts have a lifetime anyway.

I'd like to add an integrated over head hood. Goes into a inglebrook i.e. a fireplace chimney. Expensive from Rangemaster and only one model available. Half the price from Siemens.

Minor drawbacks that may not even apply to you.

Have a Waterford Stanley. Looks very well, choice of colours was nice when picking kitchen.
Bought it in Homevalu in Drogheda. 0419832932.
