Hi was wondering does anybody know what quinn direct in Blanchardstown are like to work for ???

I know somebody who is working there.

Very, very busy seemingly - she says it is a bit 'dis-organised'.

A friend of mine works there and is very happy. Was surprised though to hear about the non-paying of sick days and their Xmas bonus consisting partly of money off vouchers for car and home insurance! Great location though for locals

Was this even with a doctors note??? If it was, I believe that's illegal, if not, fair enough I think.... Alot of companies get screwed by people taking so called "sick days" as a given holiday.

certainly not illegal. Employees have no statutory entitlement to paid sick leave. It's a contractual issue.

CitizensInformation - Sick leave and sick pay
In general an employee has no right under employment law in Ireland to be paid while on sick leave. Consequently, it is at the discretion of the employer to decide his/her own policy on sick pay and sick leave, subject to the employee’s contract or terms of employment. Under [broken link removed] of the [broken link removed] and 2001 an employer must provide an employee with a written statement of terms of employment within two months of the commencement of the employment. One of the terms referred to in this Act on which the employer must provide information is the terms or conditions relating to incapacity for work due to sickness or injury.
