A friend of mine works there and is very happy. Was surprised though to hear about the non-paying of sick days and their Xmas bonus consisting partly of money off vouchers for car and home insurance! Great location though for locals

Was this even with a doctors note??? If it was, I believe that's illegal, if not, fair enough I think.... Alot of companies get screwed by people taking so called "sick days" as a given holiday.

certainly not illegal. Employees have no statutory entitlement to paid sick leave. It's a contractual issue.

In general an employee has no right under employment law in Ireland to be paid while on sick leave. Consequently, it is at the discretion of the employer to decide his/her own policy on sick pay and sick leave, subject to the employee’s contract or terms of employment.
