Hi,

Quick Q on filing additional income tax. I'm setup on ROS.

Started investing in shares through Degiro in 2016. So have had some dividend income & capital gains in 2016 & 2017 (this year). Capital gains are well below 1,270 tax free allowance in each year.

  1. Using ROS is my deadline for 2016 & 2017 filing today Oct 31st or slightly later into Nov 14th?
  2. Because my capital gains is below the 1,270 tax free is there any need to outline and declare?
  3. I've seen reference to Form 11 & Form 12 - given I'm strictly PAYE and all my gains are to do with dividend income and capital gains. What is the most user friendly form to use?
  4. Am I only paying tax on 2016 income or as I've seen mentioned am I also paying 'preliminary' tax for 2017 based on dividend payments / CG year to date?
Cheers for the help appreciate it!

1. Using ROS the deadline is extended (until 16th, I think).

2. Yes, you should declare and claim the 1270 ( pr whatever the level is)

3. If your non- paye income is less than €5000 use form 12. (Capital gains not counted in 5000).

4. If form 12 only pay 2016 tax.

Thanks for clarity, good to get it out to mid November.

Want to ensure I do this correctly
