I always seem to have issues with tax ..iv no idea why I'm a paye worker but something always goes wrong.
I received this message today saying iv overpaid which I know isn't right.
As back in 2019 I received a simular email saying I had to pay tax on my wife's maternity benefit as she never returned to work.
What will I do? Ignore it and Hope for the best?
I get nothing from the state no back to school allowence for 3 kids nothing but I'm always down money...this is stressful

Hi helens,

You mention an overpayment but show the underpayment section of the document above. Which is it exactly?

If it is an underpayment your tax allowances will be adjusted accordingly and that will sort it out for you.

if it is an overpayment you will receive a refund if it was for previous tax years.

If you feel you are due an allowance for your children returning to school perhaps you should call one of the Dept of Social Welfare offices and ask their advice.

For any of this type of information you could have a look at Citizens Information.

How did you receive the message?

If it was via text or what's app or email, it was probably a scam so do not follow the instructions.

Go onto Revenue online and sort it out officially.
