Query on UK tax return for rental property in Ireland

Hi

I moved to the UK at the end of 2016, and I am completing a self assessment tax return for Irish rental income for the year 2017-2018. I have paid tax in Ireland as a non-resident, but now I need to declare the rental income in my self assessment UK tax return for April 2017 - March 2018.

Does anyone know if I need to recalculate my tax return/ mortgage interest pain over the UK tax year, as obviously the year runs April - March in the UK, as opposed to Jan- Dec in Ireland.

Or can I just declare my 2017 Irish rental income in my April 2017-March 2018 UK tax return.

Thanks for any help!

This is more of UK tax issue than an Irish one. In reverse, UK tax on UK property, I apportioned for the Irish tax year based on 1/4 of the the UK year and 3/4 of the previous UK year. I'm sure you'll find some guidance on the HMRC website.
