PVC front door cost?

Hi all

For anyone who has a PVC front door can you give me a rough estimate of how much they cost?

We have a wooden door which I love but it really lets in a lot of cold air and lets all the warmth out and I'm tired of it - that and the yearly expansion that makes it practically impossible for me to open and close it. So we're thinking of replacing with a PVC door.

1.23 Where the approach to a dwelling entrance
is level, or sloped, i.e. free of steps, or, in the case of
apartment blocks or the like, is provided with a
suitable passenger lift in accordance with par. 1.12,

(a) the entrance should be provided with a level
entry, i.e. with maximum threshold height of

I have found some uPVC suppliers are providing items that are more like windows than doors.
They have full frame surrounds, with huge bottom frame members/upstands of 75mm.
Its all very well have a well sealed door, but there's no point breaking your neck.

You might be better advised to install a porch instead of a uPVC door.
As long as the area is 2.0M or below, it is exempted development.
It provides an air-lock effect which even a sealed door cannot.

Are most porch doors on a sliding system though and therefore a security risk?

I have the same problem with a warped wooden door. Have decided to get a porch instead with French doors. It cost a little more rather than a new door but gave us a little more insulation from the elements. Small porch cost us 2.5K

My Dad replaced wooden door with pvc door about 2 weeks ago. He has to liiterally step up and over the frame of the door and is always tripping over it. It also looks silly
