Purchase of holiday house abroad

Hello,

Me and my wife are planning to buy a small holiday house in France, the house will not generate any income as we are planning to use it for holiday a few times a year and it will not be let.
I know I will have to pay some local council taxes in France but I wonder if we have to inform the Irish Revenue that we are buying a house abroad even if it doesn't generate income and pay the property tax on that house also in Ireland.

Thanks
Seamus

Thanks a lot for the link Joe. I will have a look. Honestly I was thinking, if possible, to avoid opening a bank account in France at all and eventually do the payment via wire transfer from my AIB account. Do the same for the heating bills electricity bills and local garbage and local tax.
