punto stuttering

what does this sound like

fiat punto starts fine and drives fine
however if say u are driving slowly or if the revs are low
the car begins to stutter or jump , it does'nt stall but its v erratic , if u accellorate a bit more it gets out of its fit again

i would have thought it sounded like dirty petrol cause when the petrol was low it did the same thing , and i filled it up and it was grand again for a while
but it happened again to me on my way to work this morning

i'm a novice so any ideas would be most appreciated

[Caveat]

Sounds like it's misfiring and if so, could be a few things - spark plugs, leads, coil - even ECU. Other possibilities too.

New ECU is a potentially expensive fix (€750 + with labour maybe?) but you may be able to source cheap 2nd hand unit if required.

These are the first things that come to mind but other faults could be the cause - e.g. sensors/switches etc.

It could be a million things,from an air leak to to fuel pump,your best bet would be to get a diagnostic scan,see what shows up and go from there.
