The Sunday Tribune reports Public Service Pension levy cannot be imposed on the judiciary for constitutional reasons.

So the judiciary who enjoy better pension arrangements than rank and file civil and public servants do not have to pay the levy.

A part time female civil servant who joined the service before 79 does not get the much vaunted public service penion but has to pay the levy in full.

Anomolies indeed!

Does anyone know what the penion arrangements for the judiciary are?
