Public service pay scale

Hi everyone,

Can everyone explain the public scale pay scale to me, please?
If someone starts a job in the public service on the scale below, how are the increments applied time and performance wise?

Administrative Officer Standard Scale - PPC €30,221 €32,575 €33,247 €36,194 €39,967 €42,838 €45,711 €48,593 €51,466 €54,329 €56,314¹ €58,294²

¹ After 3 years satisfactory service at the maximum
² After 6 years satisfactory service at the maximum

Is someone who starts on a salary of €30,221 this year likely to get a rise to €32,575 next year? How are the increments applied?

If their performance rating is satisfactory, they get their increment. Increments are annual.

The increments are not annual. They used to be, but since the Haddington Road Agreement increments were stalled for a time.

Increments are now given after 18 months provided the performance of the employee has been assessed favourably by the line manager.

Leper the 3 month delays won't apply after June this year.

Increments are annual in this case except for the last two where you have to serve 3 years each time.
