PSRI - Free dental / eye check - Not eligible

Hi all,

Since I can remember, I have been trying to get my yearly dental or eye check via PSRI and it always comes back as "pending".

However, following my last dental appointment on Thursday last week, it has now come back as "not eligible".

I have been paying my taxes/PSRI contributions through my employers since February 2016. I therefore don't understand why it comes back as "not eligible" when I have been under the Universal scheme since then (I assume the 260 requirement has been met). I'm a tax resident in Ireland (went to college here also, but I am originally from another EU country).

Any insights, would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The eye check is only every two years, I think

The dental check is yearly but is subject to PRSI contribution minimum

Where are you checking online?

Yes, the eye check is every two years. When I went last September (after 2.5 years, I was not eligible).

I'm not the one who checked. The dentist / ophthalmologist put in the request and revert with the status. In this particular case, the dentist just rang me to say it came back as not eligible. I don't know what platform they are using.

I've never been able to avail of the PSRI eye or dental checks.

Sign up to [broken link removed] and check your eligibility yourself. You will get a return letter confirming this by return on the site.

I'm more interested in knowing why I'm not eligible.
I would think the only way you're gonna answer your question is to contact the TB section themselves
Nobody else is going to able to answer your question definitively except them
