PRTB - Registration time

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long it is taking the PRTB to register paperwork at the moment.

I had sent a registration form to them last year and it only came to light this year that they had never received it (they reckon it got lost in their move of premises) now I need to send the form again. And to top it all off the taxman says I owe money because I was not registered......aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
 
It takes about 8 weeks for your confirmation letter to come out once you've sent in the correct paperwork.
 
OP did you have proof of postage? Has the PRTB said the application was probably lost in writing?
 
The problem is the delay in them coming back to you. I called them after about 4 weeks and was told it's probably being processed.....they'd be in touch. It did come through after about another 3-4 weeks. After 8 weeks you'd nearly forget you'd ever sent it.

It is such a usless organisation which take money from landlords and then seem to be biased towards the tenants - It's abit like sending the turkey out to buy the stuffing !!

I wouldn't have such a problem if they offered some servcies to help account for the cash we are sending them.

Bronte - the only proof I have is a copy of the application, I am trying to find my old cheque book to get the chq stub....typical its the one time..............

Sorry I wasnt very clear, no they didnt cash the cheque.......looks like I'm dammed.....
 
Have a big trawl through the house to see if you can find the chq stub. You may get nowhere but worth a try especially if it means you's have to pay full tax.
