PRTB: Does tenant's partner need to be included in "Additional tenants" section?

If your tenant's partner is also residing at your property do you need to include their name as well in the "Additional tenants" section of the form or will one main tenant name suffice?

It's just that I don't have the partner's full name or pps number and would happily register with just the one name if that's okay to do.

With regard to the NPPR fee, is that due at the start of a tenancy or can you wait awhile or?

If your tenant's partner is also on the lease, then you should include them on the PRTB form. But I guess if you don't know their name, they are not on the lease. In that case you probably don't need to include them on the form.

The 70 euro fee is due at the start of tenancy - if registered within 1 month of the start. If you register later, the fee is doubled to 140 euro, and is also payable on registration.
 
If your tenant’s partner is residing there, then you have joint tenants and as such both should be named on the PRTB registration form.

Can you not just ask for their name and PPS number ?

31st March is the liability date for NPPR, if the property was not your PPR on this date, you are liable for the charge and must pay by the end of June to avoid penalties. If it was your PPR on this date you’re ok until next year.

As set out in the Local Government (Charges) Act 2009, liability to pay the charge is determined on the basis of ownership of the property in question on a single day each year. This date, which is called the "liability date", is 31st July for 2009 and is 31st March in 2010 and future years. The charge must be paid within three months of the liability date (31st October in 2009 and 30th June for 2010) in order to avoid late payment charges.

Get down there pronto and sign them both up on both the lease and PRTB.

Guess why - couples split up and you can be the one losing out if they do.
