PRSI Contributions for non residents

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if a person who is moving abroad (coming up to retirement age) can make PRSI contributions for the next couple of years (while non resident) in order to get their contributory pension?? Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately you are not providing enough information to enable any views to be expressed. It's not clear whether you have already retired from employment and what relationship you already have with Social Welfare. Dependent on your age and your history of making contributions or receiving credits you may already qualify for Retirement Pension/COAP. I suggest you first look at http://www.welfare.ie/schemes/retired/oacp.html
and you are also advised to call into your local Social Welfare office who will have access to your records.

Hope this helps,

Pat
