Hi , new to all of this, please be kind…
Dropped out of my job earlier this year (without maxxing out last years AVC and obviously couldn’t contribute after leaving) and am still job hunting ( wasn’t supposed to turn out like that)
My question is for 2026, what PRSA do I need to set up to contribute to with main goal to max out AVCs (35%) for 2026.
Or maybe it doesn’t even work that way.

Not sure if it makes any difference if I keep it (after backdated payments made and new employment commenced) or transfer it to work scheme.

You won't be eligible for tax relief on any AVC contributions made after your pensionable employment ceased.

You can only get tax relief on AVC PRSA contributions made before you ceased employment.

You cannot get tax relief on PRSA contributions to make use of the allowable 35% from your pensionable employment earnings.
