I thought of that but would it work on the stairs or would it be caught in shoes and people trip? It would be just the job if it can do the stairs as it is only a small job. ThanksIf you're job suits it why not just get a paint cover from Woodies?

i think woodies have themYou can actually get a runner type cover that will go on the stairs but you'll need to push it in on each step.
good idea. also i was thinking of cutting runner type cover into strips and only put the on the actual step of the stair not the part between stepsA tirck I've used that may work in the short term .... use an open stapler to help staple it to underlying carpet .... it will help keep it in place but not damage carpet
