I have work that need doing upstairs. What can i put on the stairs to keep the carpet clean?

You can buy large plastic sheets in most hardware shops that are sticky on one side and stick to the carpet. This will protect the carpet and then you can just pull it up when your finished.

Do you mean like

They are not suitable for stairs. If not above what is it called. Thank you

might even be worth considering taking up the floorcovering.
It depends of the work you are doing, and the type of carpert.
if you have builders in, doing cement work etc, it will be a problem.
If you use a covering make sure it is safe, and not a cause of slips etc

If you're job suits it why not just get a paint cover from Woodies?

I thought of that but would it work on the stairs or would it be caught in shoes and people trip? It would be just the job if it can do the stairs as it is only a small job. Thanks

You can actually get a runner type cover that will go on the stairs but you'll need to push it in on each step.

A tirck I've used that may work in the short term .... use an open stapler to help staple it to underlying carpet .... it will help keep it in place but not damage carpet.

Or buy adhesive velcro strips to help hold it in place.

good idea. also i was thinking of cutting runner type cover into strips and only put the on the actual step of the stair not the part between steps
