Prices for Paving Materials

Folks,

Apologies as I know there are some threads that touch on this, but usually only in a vague way. I am looking to pave my back garden - common problem of standing water on the plug of clay that should be topsoil, and throw a dog into the mix and hey presto, grass disappears as well.

I live in north dublin, so am looking for anyone who has ordered materials and can tell me unit prices for

tonne of hardcore (Roadstone looking for 50 euro which is very steep)
tonne of sand (as above)

Where they would recommend going for paving stones, paviors etc

All advise appreciated.

If enough people contribute, perhaps we can set up prices for other areas around Ireland also.

Are you looking to buy the materials yourself and then pay someone to do the paving for you.

I would let the paver buy the materials as they would get trade discounts.

My brother in law does this type of work and the way he works is to figure out how much of everything he needs orders it and the person getting the job done goes in and pays for the materials at the trade price.

A lot of people dont want to pay alot of money upfront and then not know if they will every turn up again, and the same with him if he's paid out for materials before and then never got paid for the job.

He works in north dublin if you want him to come out and give you a quote i can pm you his number. He's actually very good at what he does and i'm not bias because he's my brother in law i actually dont like him very much lol but he did a good job on my driveway.

Was doing research last year for same materials and they were cheapest and very helpful. I asked for a bit of trade discount and he was willing to knock €100 off. Have no connection what so ever. Haven't got job done yet due to illness and other things.

Not all tradesmen pass on the trade discount to the customer as does the brother in law of previous poster.

Not sure if these prices would be of help, but here goes:

100sq meters of Tobermore Pedesta Charcoal bolck paving (basic paving brick) = €1,650 delivered to Mayo. 10 tonne of plastering sand to provide approx 50mm screed = €200 delivered.
