Price of electric/auto gates?

Anyone have a rough idea of the cost of a basic set of electric gates, standard size entrance?
 
I was quoted about 1500 to retrofit a system to existing iron gates.
I did alot of research as I intended to fit myself, but I got scared off by all the reports of them not working...... even after a professional fit.

The next week I met somebody who had a set..... guess what, he couldn't get them working.

I think if you are prepared to spend 1500-3000 on a proper system, and are prepared to pay to have it serviced, fixed every few years then they are great!
 
got mine done six months ago,along with the house alarmed for €2300,working perfect.intercom two buzzers the works..
 
Hi i fit automatic gates for a living,it depends on the make of the system you install and if it is installed correctly it should be hassle free for a long time.1500 euro is about right for a basic system supplied and installed.

Is that just for the automatic system and the gates or just the system??

Where u based?
 
I had my motor's taken out, so had electric gates turned into normal gates.

This was due to costly repairs (~600 euro a time) about every 2 years.
 
thats just to automate an existing set of gates.im in south dub
