Assuming you have no children and if you have all the details of your separation fully agreed (and you need to include pension, inheritance etc); then the legal fees will be much reduced. If you are planning to sell the property, you could agree that all the legal costs are covered from the sale.
You both however should engage your own solicitor and make sure you have full legal advice.
If you have been living apart for more than two years, I recommend applying for divorce rather than Judicial Separation.
