Hi,

My wife and I and two other couples booked flights in july with Aer Lingus for an Xmas shopping trip in early Dec. We got great news during the week but the doc has advised wife not to travel. We didnt take insurance when we booked. What are our options?. Aer Lingus tell us that we can change the names for 50 euro each but can't get refund. Someone told me yesterday that I can get 75% refund if we get a letter from the doc?? I am contemplating the buy and sell. Any advice?

Cheers

Congratulations on the pregnancy, sorry to hear there are problems. AFAIK, travel insurance is the only thing that covers this, I would look to sell on the tickets. I'd be interested to hear if there's a refund available from Aer Lingus, but I haven't heard of it.

Slightly off-topic, but can I ask why the Doc advised against travelling? I thought it was Ok for pregnant women to travel in the first six months of pregnancy as long as they felt ok.
