Power Flushing heating

We live in an area with a lot of limescale in the water. I recently got a water filter fitted on point of entry but heating still takes a bit of time to warm up the rads and a couple of rads arent coming on at all so having read up on it it seems like we're ideal candidates for a flush (oo er).

Does this sound like a power flush is needed? and what will one power flush do that another one wont, Ive seen prices on here ranging from 375 up to 700?

A flush is always a good idea for systems over a certain age. A sure sign of sludge build up is slow warm up time and cold spots on radiators. Normally at bottom and in a arc.

We charge €400 plus VAT. this includes adding a pre cleanser 7 to 10 days prior to flush.
Then a full day power flushing using a chemical to suit age/condition of system. We also include a boiler service. At €400 we are just about covering costs.

at the moment I am trying to promote flushing as a great way to bring down bills and prolong life of system. Some people think I am trying to pull a fast one when I explain the beneifits and won't get it done unless there heating system is all but gone.

I worked in the UK where everyone know about power flushing and was a common thing to do. It cost about £600 plus VAT there.

Thanks for the info Davy. Have you contact details please? post or pm.

Im in ashbourne, I tried pm but your messages are full. dunno whether thats got to do with the new system on here.

Have cleared my inbox. We operate out of Limerick. There are other posters that can point you in the right direction. Flushing has become much more popular now, largely due to boiler warrenties not being honored unless it is done before installation.

no worries. Ive found 2 sites that say they specialise in it, is there anything I should ask them about their methods before they start? e.g. You say a cleanser should be added beforehand , is this just a particular method or the proper one. thanks again.

Don't know if it is a done thing. I do it so I don't have to use a strong chemical on flush day. Let us know what price they quote you.
